Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the United States from September 21 to 23 to attend the Quad Summit. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) shared a detailed itinerary of PM Modi's US trip on Tuesday.

Quad Summit

The prime focus of PM Modi visit would be the Quad Summit, which will be held on September 21 in Wilmington in Delaware. The meet will be hosted by US President Joe Biden at his hometown. In the wake of the US presidential election 2024, the Modi-Biden meeting gains significance. Next year when India hosts the Quad summit, the US will have a new president.

The US elections are set to be held on November 5.

Japan’s Fumio Kishida and Australian Premier Anthony Albanese will also attend the summit.

According to MEA, the leaders of the Quad will review the progress achieved by the alliance in the last year. “They will set the agenda for the year to assist the countries of the Indo-Pacific region in meeting their development goals and aspirations,” MEA added.

'Modi & US Progress Together' event in New York

On September 22, PM Modi in New York will be addressing the Indian diaspora at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Over 24,000 members of the Indian diaspora have signed up for the event.

The PM will also interact with CEOs of the leading US-based companies to foster greater collaborations between the two countries in the cutting-edge areas of AI, quantum computing, semiconductors and biotechnology, the MEA said.

Summit of the Future at UNGA

On September 23, PM Modi will address the 'Summit of the Future' at the UN General Assembly in New York. This year, the theme of the Summit is ‘Multilateral Solutions for a Better Tomorrow’.

On the sidelines of the Summit, PM would be holding bilateral meetings with several world leaders and discuss issues of mutual interest, the MEA statement read.
