Haryana assembly polls: Congress announces seven guarantees, including caste survey

The Congress, on Wednesday, announced seven guarantees for the people of poll-bound Haryana, at AICC headquarters in Delhi.

According to media reports, the guarantees, released by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge in the presence of party general secretary K.C. Venugopal, former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, and Haryana Congress chief Udai Bhan, include legal guarantee for minimum support price (MSP), and caste survey.


The other guarantees are: empowerment of women, strengthening social security, secure future for the youth, welfare of families, and houses for the poor.

Kharge said, "We will implement these guarantees and that is why we have named it 'Saat Vaade, Pakke Irade'.

Udai Bhan said if elected to power, the Congress will provide Rs 2,000 per month to every woman above 18 years to empower them.

The Congress also promised LPG gas cylinders for Rs 500, and Rs 6,000 pension to senior citizens.

Further, Udai Bhan said two lakh government vacancies will be filled. He also assured that the state will be made drug-free.

Other promises of the Congress include 300 units of free electricity and free medical care for the poor.

Voting for the 90-member assembly will take place on October 5 while the counting of votes will happen on October 8.
