Prime Minister lashed out at Congress on Friday and charged the grand old party now even hates Ganpati puja to appease its vote bank. Modi charged Congress used farmers only for politics and corruption and the party should not be given another chance.
The prime minister, addressing on completion of one year of the PM Vishwakarma scheme at Wardha, Modi said, “Congress hates Ganpati puja as well. I went to a Ganesh puja programme and Congress criticised it for appeasement politics. Ganpati Bappa was put behind bars in Karnataka. Ganpati idol was put in a police van,” PTI reported. Modi said he was surprised Congress’s allies remained silent and did not take a stand on insult meted out against Ganpati Bappa.

Recently, Modi visited residence of Chief Justice of D.Y. Chandrachud for the Ganesh Chaturthi festival and the Congress, several opposition parties criticised it.
Modi added ghost of hatred has entered the Congress and soul of patriotism has breathed its last in the party. “If there is a corrupt party, it is the Congress, and the most corrupt family is its ‘shahi parivar’,” he said.
The prime minister charged falsehood and betrayal are the hallmark of the Congress and the people of Maharashtra should beware of the party. “The Congress used farmers only for politics and corruption. We should not give another chance to the Congress which destroyed farmers,” Modi said. The prime minister said the public should be aware of duplicity of Congress and it did not fulfil its election promises in Telangana.
Talking about PM Vishwakarma scheme, Modi said SC, ST and OBC categories are the biggest beneficiaries of the programme. Modi said the Centre wishes to take the textile industry to the global market and restore the glory of the sector. “Through Vishwakarma scheme, we have pledged prosperity through labour and a better tomorrow through skill. In the last one year, more than 20 lakh people from 18 professions were linked to the Vishwakarma scheme, and more than 8 lakh craftsmen and artisans got skill training," he said.
