Siddaramaiah will not resign and he is not involved in any scam, said Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and state Congress Chief D.K. Shivakumar expressing solidarity for CM Siddaramaiah. The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday dismissed CM’s plea and upheld governor’s sanction against former in the MUDA scam case.

Talking to presspersons, Shivakumar said there is no question of Siddaramaiah’s resignation. “He has not done anything wrong. He is not involved with any scam. We stand by him, we support him.” Shivakumar alleged the entire case was a political conspiracy by the Bharatiya Janata Party against the Congress government in the state. The Karnataka BJP demanded Siddaramaiah’s resignation after the HC dismissed his plea challenging governor’s sanction.

Shivakumar charged a similar conspiracy was plotted against him and he came out clean. The deputy CM said they will fight the charges legally. After the HC’s verdict, several Congress ministers and leaders visited Siddaramaiah’s residence and expressed solidarity.

The BJP demanded Cm should tender his resignation immediately and face probe. BJP state president B.Y. Vijayendra told ANI, “The BJP has been relentlessly fighting against the corrupt Congress government in the state. But they said the BJP is doing a political conspiracy. The High Court, in its judgment, has clearly said that the decision taken by the governor is correct. Accepting this verdict, the CM should resign immediately.”

The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday dismissed Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s plea challenging Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot’s sanction to prosecute him in connection with alleged Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam. The Court upheld governor’s sanction and observed the allegations need to be probed. Siddaramaiah in his plea sought quashing of order issued by the governor.

In the MUDA 'scam', it is alleged that compensatory sites were allotted to Siddaramaiah's wife Parvathi in an upmarket area in Mysuru, which had higher property value as compared to the location of her land which had been "acquired" by the MUDA, PTI reported. The MUDA had allotted plots to Parvathi under a 50:50 ratio scheme in lieu of 3.16 acres of her land, where MUDA developed a residential layout.

Under the controversial scheme, MUDA allotted 50 per cent of developed land to the land losers in lieu of undeveloped land acquired from them for forming residential layouts. The opposition has claimed that the MUDA scam is of the magnitude of Rs 4,000 crore to Rs 5,000 crore.
