In a shocking incident, a class 2 student studying at a private school in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh was “sacrificed” in a black magic ritual for fame and prosperity. Hathras police said five persons including DL Public School’s director have been arrested in connection with the murder.
The incident came to light after the boy was found dead under mysterious circumstances by his father, Krishan Kushwaha, an IT professional working in Delhi. According to police, school authorities have reportedly informed Kushwaha that the student had fallen ill on Monday.

On reaching the school, Kushwaha was told school director Dinesh Baghel has rushed the boy to the hospital in his car, police said. However, Kushwaha later recovered his son’s body from Baghel’s car, police said.
Hathras police said post-mortem was conducted and the boy was allegedly strangulated to death. Nipun Agarwal, Hathras Superintendent of Police told News 18, “The child was strangled with the intent to bring prosperity to the school and secure its future. The reports claimed that the accused strangled the child to death on September 22.”
According to police, DL Public School Director Dinesh Baghel’s father, Jashodhan Singh, believed in black magic, and together with his son and three teachers, they planned to sacrifice a child to bring them fame, the publication reported. The gang had initially planned to murder the boy near a tube well outside the school, however, they strangled him to death after he resisted. Police also recovered items related to black magic from the school premises.
Reportedly, the accused had earlier planned to conduct the ritual on September 6. However, it got foiled after the child became suspicious.
