Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal slammed Union Home Minister Amit Shah over law and order situation in the national capital and urged him to take immediate action to improve security situation in Delhi.
Highlighting recent incidents of firing in various parts of Delhi, Kejriwal charged residents of the national capital are feeling unsafe. “Law and order has collapsed in Delhi. There is complete jungle raj. People are feeling unsafe in the country's capital,” the Aam Aadmi Party leader alleged in a post on social media platform X. Kejriwal added the law and order in Delhi comes directly under the union home minister and he should take effective steps immediately.
Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj also slammed the BJP and termed the recent incidents as “rise of gangs and gangsters in Delhi”.
Three incidents of firing were reported in the national capital within a day. Unidentified persons opened fire at a second-hand luxury car showroom in West Delhi on Friday night. No casualties were reported, however, they targeted the cars in the showroom. According to police, it was an extortion bid by the Himanshu Bhau gang and the gangster has demanded Rs 5 crore from the showroom owner as protection money.
Similarly, on Saturday, unidentified shooters opened fire outside a hotel in South Delhi and at a sweets shop in Sultanpur Mor. According to police, all shooting incidents were allegedly related to protection money for gangsters.
