Hundreds of people took to the streets in Lucknow on Sunday evening to protest the killing of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah in an Israeli airstrike.
The demonstrations were staged between Chhota Imambara and Bada Imambara.
The protesters, holding black flags and torches, raised slogans against the US and Israel. Many of them were also seen holding portraits of the Hezbollah chief, terming him as a martyr.

According to reports, the call for protest was given by Shia cleric Maulana Kalbe Jawad. He has declared a three-day mourning for Nasrallah's death and also asked people to hoist black flags atop their houses.
"Israel has proved that it is the biggest terrorist in the world. This great martyrdom will not go in vain and Israel will soon be destroyed," Jawad was quoted as saying by PTI.
"His great services and achievements will not be forgotten. He will always remain alive in people's hearts," Jawad said.
Israeli strikes have killed Nasrallah and six of his top commanders and officials in the last 10 days. The IDF claims to have hit thousands of militant targets across large parts of Lebanon.
Nasrallah’s killing had also sparked protests in Jammu and Kashmir with hundreds of people taking to the streets in Srinagar and Budgam.
People's Democratic Party (PDP) supremo Mehbooba Mufti had cancelled her poll campaign, while National Conference (NC) urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to put pressure on Israel to stop the “bloodshed” in Palestine and Lebanon.
