Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, who are in Haryana for campaigning ahead of the Assembly elections, reiterated their support for the farmers in the state, stating the state wanted a farmers' government and not a Modi or Adani government.

Rahul, who also held a roadshow in Ambala, has several meetings scheduled for Monday in Ambala, Kurukshetra and Yamunangar districts. He is accompanied by his sister and Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi, who also addressed hundreds of supporters in Ambala.

Rahul called for a change in regime in Haryana, stating that it was the first step. "There will be change here but when the government comes to Delhi, I want to know how much money is going into the pockets of the poor and how much money is coming out of their pockets. I am not going to leave this," he said.

The Leader of the Opposition also claimed that the small parties contesting in Haryana were BJP's proxies and remote-controlled by them.

He said the fight was between BJP and Congress. "It is a fight of ideology. On one side there is justice, and on the other side injustice," he said, adding that Modi was favouring big industrialists in Haryana. "This is not Modi ji's government. This is Adani's government. We don't want a government of people like Adani ji in Haryana. We want a government of farmers and the poor in Haryana," Rahul said.

Priyanka too toed the same line, calling on people to throw out the current BJP government and questioning what the state got from the BJP administration. She also accused the BJP of insulting women, athletes and soldiers. "In the last 10 years, the farmers, despite what they did to the country, have been beaten and lathi-charged. They were not given the MSPs," she said.

Priyanka also highlighted the wrestler's plight, stating how they were made to sit on the road. "If you need justice, then throw out this government. Remove this government. You got nothing from this government," she said.

“The Constitution gave you respect. The Constitution has given you rights. You change those who speak about changing the Constitution,” she said.

The state leadership too is pinning their hopes on Rahul and Priyanka to give new energy to their campaign. The party is hopeful of bouncing back to power in Haryana.
