A Bajaj Finance area manager died by suicide in Uttar Pradesh's Jhansi due to alleged harassment by senior colleagues. The 42-year-old man blamed his seniors at work in a suicide note that was recovered on Monday, reports said.
Tarun Saxena, who was found dead by his housekeeper, reportedly claimed in his suicide note that he was constantly under pressure from his senior colleagues at Bajaj Finance over targets. He was threatened with salary reductions for the past two months.
A cousin of the late area manager reportedly told India Today that Tarun was under pressure from Bajaj Finance to bring in more collections. His salary was deducted in the past over failing to meet targets, he reportedly added.
Tarun Saxena had a virtual meeting with two senior Bajaj Finance employees based in Bhopal around 6:00 am in the morning. The "target meeting" once again poppeed up and Tarun later ended his life, the cousin alleged.
A Jhansi police official reportedly told the media that Saxena's suicide note indeed accused his superiors of harassment. There was immense pressure in him to meet high recovery targets, he added.
Tarun Saxena's family has yet to file an official complaint with the police.
Amidst the hue and cry over the death of EY executive Anna Sebastain Perayil due to workload, a Chennai techie had died by self-electrocution earlier this month. The late Tamil Nadu man was on medication for depression due to work pressure.
In a suicide note, Tarun Saxena stated that his seniors at work have been putting pressure on him to meet his targets for the last two months and threatening him with salary deductions.
