A day after the Supreme Court came down heavily on Adnhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for making public allegations on the Tirupati laddu row, his deputy Pawan Kalyan on Tuesday said the judges did not say that the laddus were not adulterated.

"I think they said in such a way, they never said it was not adulterated. Whatever information they have on their hands; I think they commented on that. Supreme Court judges didn't say that it was unadulterated, they said there was confusion regarding the date which will be cleared,” he said.

The actor-politician further asserted that his government will investigate the violations that allegedly happened in the last five years as “it is not just about the issue of prasad”.

Pawan Kalyan was speaking on his ‘Prayashchit Diksha’ which he claimed is a commitment to take forward the Sanathana Dharma Parirakshana Trust.

"Some kind of desecration has been happening continuously for the last 5-6 years. Around 219 temples were desecrated. In Ramatheertham, Lord Ram's statue was vandalised. So, this is not about just one prasad issue,” he said.

On Monday, the Supreme Court questioned Chief Minister Naidu’s public statement that animal fat was allegedly used in making Tirupati laddus under the previous Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy-led regime.

"It is very clear from the report that this is not the Ghee which has been used. Unless you are sure, how did you go to public with that?,” said a bench of justices B.R. Gavai and K.V. Viswanathan.

"You had ordered an investigation to SIT and till the outcome of such an investigation, what was the necessity to go to the press?" the bench observed, adding, the Gods need to be kept away from politics.

Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh DGP Ch Dwaraka Tirumala Rao on Tuesday said the Special Investigation Team probing the laddu controversy has suspended its investigation as the matter is sub-judice in the Supreme Court.

He said the SIT has already probed the procurement and sampling processes and was trying to understand how it is possible to adulterate the laddus.
