A Kanpur couple is accused of scamming city dwellers of an astonishing Rs 35 crore by promising to use an "Israel-made time machine" to make them reverse age. The couple, who are at large, ran a therapy centre called 'Revival World' in Kanpur, offering people to make their skin look younger.

The shocking scam came to light after three individuals who fell to the scam by Rajeev Kumar Dubey and his wife Rashmi Dubey reached the Kanpur Police with complaints. A woman who approached the cops claimed to have lost Rs 10.75 lakh in all to the couple. She also alleged that hundreds of people were cheated and the accused are likely to have made at least Rs 35 crore from the therapy centre, NDTV said.

'Revival World' offered elderly people a chance to restore their skin from their yesteryears by undergoing what they called "oxygen therapy". The "Israel-made time machine" could make a 60-year-old look like a 25-year-old, they reportedly claimed.

The Dubeys, who have reportedly fled the country, used to convince their customers that the polluted city air was causing them to age faster. Thus the "oxygen therapy" could reverse this phenomenon and help them look younger.

A police official told NDTV that Rajeev Kumar Dubey and  Rashmi charged Rs 6,000 for 10 sessions and Rs 90,000 for a three-year reward system. The "treatment" was offered in packages. There were special rewards and discounts for people who brought in referrals, reports said. There was no information on the exact number of people who signed-up for the bogus treatment.
