Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday urged people to keep the Congress and the MVA miles away from power in order to keep Maharashtra on track of development and progress.

Modi was speaking after launching and inaugurating various development works including phase I of Mumbai metro 3 from Aarey to BKC.

In a speech that was clearly aimed at  upcoming assembly elections, Modi said that Congress was the most corrupt party and MVA during its two-and-a-half-year rule stopped many development projects like Bullet Train between Ahmedabad and Mumbai and the metro that he inaugurated today.

He called MVA alliance anti-development and anti-progress and urged people to keep MVA out of power. While he attacked Congress, he didn't name either Sharad Pawar or Uddhav Thackeray in his speech.

The development works that he launched today include eastern free way extension from Chheda Nagar in Ghatkopar to Anand Nagar in Thane, internal ring metro for Thane city, the new headquarters of Thane municipal corporation.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar also spoke on the occasion.
