Jammu Kashmir Election Result 2024: Mehraj Malik’s lead in Doda is AAP’s only solace this election

Aam Aadmi Party leader Mehraj Malik is leading Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda constituency, the only seat where Arvind Kejriwal-led party is faring this round of assembly elections.

Malik, a District Development Council councillor from Kahara, is leading by over 4,500 votes against Bharatiya Janata Party’s Gajay Singh Rana. As per election commission, the counting for Doda assembly seat is nearing completion as 12 out of 13 rounds of counting have been completed.

As per EC, Malik has polled 22,611 votes and is leading by 4,548 votes against BJP’s Gajay Singh Rana who has polled 18,063 votes. National Conference’s Khalid Najib Suharwardy is trailing by 9,840 votes.

The National Conference-Congress alliance is leading in the election 90-seat Jammu and Kashmir assembly and the alliance is leading in 48 seats as per EC. The Commission announced results for nine seats among which three seats have been won by NC – Gurez, Hazratbal and Zadibal.
