The result of the ossification test of Dharmaraj Kashyap, the accused in the murder of NCP leader and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddiqui, has revealed that he was not a minor.

He was subjected to the test after he claimed he was only 17 years old. Police then refuted the claims, stating that they had recovered an Aadhaar card that showed his age as 21.

After the test results debunked his claims, Kashyap was presented before the court, which granted police custody till October 21. "His (Dharmaraj Kashyap's) lawyer claimed that he was a minor. The test was conducted, and it was confirmed that he was not a minor. He was produced in court, and the court has granted police custody till October 21," said Mumbai police.

Besides Kashyap, Gurmail Baljit Singh, a 23-year-old man from Haryana, has also been sent to police custody till October 21.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Police crime branch officials claimed they made a third arrest. The arrested has been identified as Pravin Lonkar from Pune. The 28-year-old is reportedly the brother of Shubham Lonkar, the man who put up the social media post claiming responsibility for the murder of Baba Siddiqui. Police say the brothers had hatched the conspiracy to kill Siddiqui and enlisted the shooters in the plot.

Baba Siddiqui was shot dead by three assailants on Saturday in suburban Bandra. The third shooter, identified as Shivakumar, is currently absconding.
