Uddhav Thackeray health update: Shiv Sena (UBT) chief hospitalised in Mumbai

Uddhav Thackeray is set to undergo an angiography following heart check-up

Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray was hospitalised on Monday after he became unwell. He was brought to Reliance Hospital in Mumbai, according to reports.

He underwent an angioplasty at Lilavati Hospital on July 20, 2012 after three blockages were found. Two of these were 100 per cent blockages. A total of eight stents were inserted to remove the blockages. He also had another angioplasty in November 2012 when blockages in another artery was removed.

He underwent a follow-up angiography on May 12, 2016. Reports suggest that the latest hospitalisation was also part of a pre-planned checkup. He underwent check-up for artery blockages followed by an angiography.

Earlier Uddhav's son Aditya Thackeray had said that the Shiv Sena (UBT) chief undergoes check-up every two to three years following the angioplasty in 2012.

Uddhav on Sunday slammed the Eknath Shinde-led Maharashtra government, saying its each move is looked upon with suspicion whether its the arrests in the murder of Baba Siddique or the police encounter of Badlapur sexual assault case accused Akshay Shinde.
