Vikash Yadav who is wanted by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation was arrested by Delhi Police in 2023. The arrest was made over an alleged kidnapping and extortion case, said a report.

Vikash aka Vikas Yadav who was arrested within a month after the US Justice Department identified CC-1 (co-conspirator) as Indian government official involved in Gurpatwant Singh Pannun murder-for-hire plot in November, reported The Indian Express.
Where is Vikash Yadav now?
Following the release of the FBI wanted list, the ministry of external affairs said Vikash was "no longer an employee of the government of India". However, the Centre has kept mum regarding the whereabouts of Yadav and issued no further clarification regardings the FBI claims.
Delhi extortion case
Vikash and an accomplice reportedly kidnapped a Rohini-based businessman whom he had befriended earlier. He told the victim that he was hired by gangster Lawrence Bishnoi to kill him. They took his cash and gold ornaments before leaving him on the roadside.
Later, the businessman got an FIR registered and the accused were arrested by the special cell of the Delhi police on December 18. The chargesheet was filed in March and Vikash was released on bail in April.
FBI charges
The FBI has booked Vikash with charges including conspiracy to hire a hitman, murder-for-hire plot and money laundering. The indictment claims Yadav was the alleged mastermind who recruited Nikhil Gupta to carry out the murder-for-hire plot in exchange for getting criminal case against him quashed.
However, the plot was foiled as the hitman they hired was an undercover US law enforcement officer. Gupta was arrestged in Czech Republic before being extradited to the US.
