A loud blast was heard outside CRPF school in Prashant Vihar, New Delhi during the early hours of Sunday. Police, bomb disposal squad and fire department have rushed to the spot and are conducting searches in the area.
Senior police officers, including from the crime branch and the special cell, have reached the spot, police said. According to police, no casualties were reported; however, the blast caused damages to the school’s wall, a few shops and cars parked nearby.
An official from the Delhi fire department said, “A blast was reported outside CRPF school in the Prashant Vihar area of Rohini district. The fire department was informed about the incident at around 7.50am, after which two fire brigades were immediately dispatched. However, no fire or damage to the wall has been found so far. The team is continuously carrying out searches in the area,” ANI reported.

A senior police officer said forensic teams are conducting searches in the area and they are collecting samples. “Forensic team and crime unit are at the spot to collect samples from the blast location. It could be a firecracker, but we are investigating the entire matter from all angles," a senior police officer told PTI.
Police said they are checking CCTV footage from the vicinity and conducting thorough probe. Police said the school wall was found damaged with a foul smell and they have cordoned off the area as part of security measures.
