Two days after a blast near a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) school in Delhi’s Rohini, at least three CRPF schools and two Kendriya Vidyalayas received bomb threats via mail on Monday evening.
According to reports, two CRPF schools in Delhi—one in Rohini and another in Dwarka—and one in Hyderabad received email specifying a potential bomb blast in classrooms at 11 am on Tuesday.
Similar messages were received by two Kendriya Vidyalayas are within the paramilitary forces' office premises at Panchkula (Haryana) and Rampur (Uttar Pradesh).
However, the threat messages later turned out to be hoax. The schools were checked by anti-sabotage teams and nothing suspicious was found.
The CRPF, Intelligence Bureau and Delhi Police have launched separate investigations into the incident. A senior Delhi Police officer, who did not wish to named, told PTI that they have written to the email service provider to get the user ID and other details of the sender.
A special cyber cell team of Delhi Police is investigating whether the threat messages are linked to Sunday’s blast that tore through a wall of the school in Rohini. A pro-Khalistani group had claimed responsibility of the blast which damaged a few vehicles and shops though nobody was injured.
The blast, coupled with the recent hoax bomb threat messages to Indian airlines, has kept the security agencies on their toes as there has been a spike in threats from pro-Khalistani elements both within the country and abroad.
More than 90 flights have received threat messages so far this week.
