Delhi police have arrested two for murdering a 19-year-old social media influencer and burying her body in the outskirts of Haryana. According to police, the victim was seven months pregnant and was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend after she pressurised him for marriage.
According to police, the victim Soni (19) was active on social media and she had close to 7,000 followers on Instagram. Soni’s family complained she was missing on October 22 and the Delhi police formed special teams to probe the case. Allegedly, the family doubted Soni’s boyfriend, whom she referred to as “ghost”, was involved in her disappearance.
On probe, police nabbed Soni’s boyfriend Sanju alias Saleem, and his friend Pankaj and the duo confessed to murdering Soni earlier this week. According to police, Sanju’s friend Ritik was also involved in the murder and they are yet to arrest him.
“Upon receiving the complaint, multiple teams were formed to investigate. The woman's phone was switched off," a senior police officer told PTI. The accused have confessed to the crime, police said.

The police found that on the day of Karwa Chauth (October 21), when the victim was fasting, she reportedly had a fight with Sanju and they decided to meet. Following this, he asked his friends Pankaj and Ritik to arrange for a car to go on a long drive. "They all boarded the car and drove towards Rohtak. So far, we know that they killed her and buried her body under a four-foot-deep pit in an abandoned area in Madina of Rohtak district" the police officer told PTI.
Police recovered Soni’s body from the pit in the abandoned area in Madina. According to police, Soni has been pressurising Sanju to marry her. However, he was not ready for it and advised her to abort the child. Unable to handle the pressure, Sanju planned to kill Soni with the help of his friends, Soni said. Police are on the lookout for Ritik.
