The notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang has threatened to kill Pappu Yadav,  Lok Sabha MP from Bihar's Purnia, if he didn’t stay away from matters involving actor Salman Khan. The death threat was made by an alleged henchman of the Bishnoi gang over the phone.

The leaked audio messages sent to Pappu Yadav by the alleged gangster said that they were in a non-stop process of identifying Pappu Yadav's hideouts and soon, he will be killed. During the murderous rant, the man claimed that he would chew the Bihar politician in raw.

Following the killing of NCP leader and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddiqui in Mumbai, Pappu Yadav had criticised Lawrence Bishnoi for the murder of a son of Bihar. Yadav had said that if the law allows, he will crush the entire network of Lawrence Bishnoi, who is a cheap criminal, in 24 hours.

THE WEEK couldn't independently verify the authenticity of the said audio clips that 56-year-old Pappu Yadav received. While abusing the MP, the man sending the audio note also claimed that Lawrence Bishnoi tried to contact him over the phone after spending a huge sum on getting the jammers inside the prison jammed. However, Yadav committed a mistake by not picking up the call and will now have to face the consequences.

Lawrence Bishnoi, whose real name is Balkaran Brar, is currently held in Sabarmati jail in Ahmedabad.

"Bhai got the jail jammer turned off and made you call him but you did not pick up the phone.

... firstly, it was your mistake and then again you are acting as if it was not your fault. We made you our elder brother and you did not pick up the phone. You know that it costs one lakh rupees per minute to turn off the jail's jammer for 10 minutes. Do you think it's a joke? You embarrassed me. Did we ask anything from you? On the contrary, we spared your life...," news reports claimed the man behind the audio clip as telling Yadav.

Later, threatening to kill Yadav, whose real name is Rajesh Ranjan, the henchman names several places as safehouses of the MP that they have tracked down. "One of your houses is in Dupalli, the second is in the housing society of Anantapur, the third is Gurdas Muthaiya's apartment building, and the fourth is the house in Patna where you were under house arrest. Another is the party office of Jan Adhikar Lokseva. The seventh is near Writing Road Aranya Bhawan and the ninth is the house near Ara Gupta General Store. The house in Bartandda Paramanpur and your house in the assembly constituency in Purnia has also been checked..."

Although the context of the conversation couldn't be fully figured out, the man goes on to condemn Pappu Yadav's "arrogance". A good settlement deal was going on but arrogance don't seem to diminish. Now listen, listen to the message from Bhai... Or else I will chew you raw..."

In light of the death threat, Pappu Yadav has requested enhanced security from the central government. He shot a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, claiming that he was being targeted by the gang due to his strong stance against their criminal activities.

After Baba Siddiqui was murdered, Yadav had claimed a "Jungle Raj" was going on in Maharashtra under the Mahayuti regime. If someone with Y Category security can be killed, what security can the government offer the public, India Today quoted him as asking earlier this month.
