In an unprecedented incident, Uttar Pradesh police used force inside a courtroom in Ghaziabad to disperse lawyers who allegedly got into a heated argument with the judge. According to reports, several lawyers suffered injuries in the police action.
Reportedly, the clash erupted after lawyers at the Ghaziabad District and Sessions Court got into an argument with the district sessions judge Anil Kumar. Allegedly, the lawyers wanted the judge to suspend court proceedings and hear a case involving a Bar Association member. However, the judge refused to budge and lawyers reportedly protested inside the courtroom.
As tension escalated, the judge called in the police to control the situation. Police personnel reportedly lathi-charged lawyers inside the courtroom. Purported video clips of the incident doing the rounds on social media showed a large number of police personnel and lawyers in a confrontation in the courtroom, PTI reported.

Some police personnel brandished batons, while one even wielded a wooden chair, gesturing as if to strike the opposing side. A lawyer was also purportedly seen with a wound on his head in a related photo shared on social media, the publication reported. Allegedly, the lawyers also attacked the police outpost in the court complex.
