Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi appears well-positioned for a strong start, with favourable odds of winning her debut in the Wayanad Lok Sabha bypolls. Priyanka’s potential tenure as a Member of Parliament seems to be a mixed bag till 2029, and she will gain significant momentum after that, from 2030 (age 58) to 2050 (age 78), says some of the well-known astrologers in the country. And, what about her chances of becoming prime minister? Will she, or won’t she?

According to astrological predictions, her prospects look very promising, by and large.

Astrologer Unnikrishna Panicker weighed in, “From 2030, shukra mahadasa will take centre stage in her birth chart, with Venus positioned more powerfully than ever before. If things go as per plan, this period could see her rise to highly sought-after positions in the country. As far as my reading goes, she is suitably placed to be India’s prime minister anywhere between 2030 and 2050 and will mirror the astrological journey her paternal grandmother took in her later years.” If things go as planned and there are no mid-term general elections between 2030 and 2050, India will go to polls in 2034, 2039, 2044 and 2049.

Many Congress workers and party sympathisers must be now wondering when Priyanka is expected to take the chair of the prime minister. “See, I am not in the position to say the exact year, but Priyanka, as of now, is destined to become the prime minister between 2030 and 2050. Also, there is some indication that certain people around Priyanka are trying to curtail her political ambitions. She needs to be vigilant and keep them at bay; otherwise, things could go haywire,” said Panicker.

Priyanka’s planetary positions suggest some challenges till March 2025, said astrologer Chithrabhanu K. Poduval. “Priyanka was born in Delhi on January 12, 1972, under the vrishchik rashi and anuradha nakshatra, third paada, on the dwadashi tidhi of shukla paksha. Her horoscope, overall, indicates greater potential for high positions than her brother, Rahul Gandhi. She is more broad-minded, charitable and humanitarian than others in her family. It is even noted that Priyanka’s husband’s (Robert Vadra) survival through certain difficult circumstances may be attributed to her own fortunes,” said Poduval.

But Poduval said Priyanka will not become prime minister. “Her horoscope indicates the possibility of attaining significant roles, especially from 2031 to 2033; I don’t see the possibility of her becoming the prime minister. Her fortunes are set to improve significantly from December 2028. But the chart suggests potential health concerns for her mother, Sonia Gandhi, during this period,” predicted Poduval.

Astrologically speaking, Priyanka possesses a personality trademark that resembles Indira’s qualities, said astrologer Sundeep Kochar. “Her shukra dasha, which ruled her for 20 years, ended this year. Sun is in the seventh house of public image and is strongly placed with mercury. Mars is also strongly positioned in her birth chart from here on,” said Kochar, who added a word of caution, noting the difference between potentiality and practicality. “Priyanka has all the boxes ticked to be the prime minister, but it also depends on her brother who is aspiring to be one. There could be a tussle between the brother and sister. Simply speaking, if the brother withdraws, the sister has a chance,” said Kochar.

One of the top astrologers in Mumbai, Kochar is frequently consulted by prominent figures in Bollywood. “I have travelled with Priyanka on a flight, and I have talked to her. She is intelligent, wise, brave, and has all the potential to conquer greater heights. I wish her all the success,” said Kochar.
