Accusing Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray of siding with those who insulted Hindutva leaders Veer Savarkar and Bal Thackeray, Union Home Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Amit Shah on Sunday said parties in the Maha Vikas Agadi are ideologically opposed to each other. Releasing the BJP's poll manifesto for Maharashtra Assembly polls, Shah challenged Thackeray whether he would ask Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to speak good words about Hindutva leader Veer Savarkar.
The Shiv Sena had earlier criticised Rahul Gandhi for his strong words against Veer Savarkar and had reportedly asked the latter to avoid speaking about the ideologue in such a derogatory manner.
Releasing the poll manifesto, Shah said, "I want to ask Uddhav Thackeray if he can request Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to say two good words for Veer Savarkar.“ The union minister asked can any Congress leader say a few words in honour of Balasaheb Thackeray. “It would be good if the people of Maharashtra get to know those who have come out with the dream of forming an alliance government amidst such contradictions,” PTI reported quoting Shah.
Shah said the BJP will not allow religion-based reservation to be implemented in the country and added it was against the Constitution. Criticising Congress leader Nana Patole for allegedly accepting demands of Ulemas leaders, Shah said, "An organization of Ulemas has demanded reservations for minorities, and the state Congress president Nana Patole acknowledged this. Are the people of Maharashtra in favour of giving their right of reservation meant for the SCs, STs and OBCs to the Muslims."

Releasing the poll manifesto, Shah said the BJP's resolutions are etched in stone and the party has fulfilled its promises wherever it has formed governments. Shah charged the opposition Congress and its allies have reneged on pre-election promises.
The union minister also criticised Nationalist Congress Party-SP leader Sharad Pawar and said he should tell the people of Maharashtra what was his contribution to them while he was a minister for 10 years in the UPA government.
