Railway Protection Force personnel in Uttar Pradesh have rescued a jeweller who was planning to end his life after murdering his wife, two daughters and a son. The incident came to light on Monday after the jeweller uploaded pictures of his kin’s dead bodies as WhatsApp status.
According to police, the jeweller Mukesh Verma was angered by a dispute he had with his family and he killed his wife Rekha, daughters Bhavya (22) and Kavya (17), and son Abhisht (12) by feeding them some poisonous substance. Verma uploaded pictures of their dead bodies as WhatsApp status and was planning to commit suicide. Family members who saw the status immediately rushed to Verma’s house and alerted police.

Sanjai Kumar, Senior Superintendent of Police, Etawah said the bodies of Kumar's wife Rekha and children were found lying in separate rooms in a four-storey building in which the jeweller lived along with his brothers. The bodies were sent for post-mortem, he said.
Verma allegedly tried to kill himself by jumping in front of the Marudhar Express train at Etawah railway station after committing the murder. However, passengers at the railway station noticed Verma's actions and they raised an alarm. RPF jawans who were present on the platform rescued Verma, however, he sustained minor injuries, police said.
