E.P. Jayarajan's autobiography 'leak': CPI(M) leader alleges conspiracy, demands probe

CPI(M) leader E.P. Jayarajan files a police complaint over alleged leak of contents of his yet-to-be published autobiography saying this was done with 'malicious intent'

CPI(M) leader E.P. Jayarajan filed a complaint with the Kerala Police chief regarding media reports on allegedly leaked content from his forthcoming autobiography. The leaked excerpts reportedly included remarks suggesting that the second Pinarayi Vijayan government is weak.

Notably, the leak coincided with polling day in the Chelakkara assembly constituency—where CPI(M) is defending its seat—and the Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency, putting the LDF on the defensive.

Jayarajan, who has been at odds with the party's state leadership, stated that two publishers, including DC Books, have shown interest in publishing his autobiography, though he has yet to give final approval to either. While DC Books had initially announced the autobiography’s release on Wednesday, they postponed it due to technical issues following the controversy.

Jayarajan labelled the leak as “false and politically motivated,” though he did not mention DC Books in his complaint to the DGP. Instead, he targeted media outlets that published articles based on the alleged leak. “I am astonished and shocked by the widespread media reports with certain fictitious, imaginary disclosures regarding the contents of my autobiography, which is yet to be finalised and published," he wrote, naming major Malayalam news channels.

"I have neither completed writing my autobiography nor entrusted anyone to print or publish it. Furthermore, the contents, as reported by the media, are absolutely incorrect and false.”

In his complaint, Jayarajan alleged a conspiracy, claiming pages of his autobiography had been forged and published with “malicious intent” on this critical by-election day, and he requested a thorough police investigation into the matter.
