A horrific video reportedly showing the aftermath of the Dehradun Innova accident that claimed the lives of six youngsters is being taken down by microblogging website X (formerly Twitter), reports said. 

The three-minute-seventeen-second-long video showed the dead bodies of the victims, three on the road and others inside the crashed vehicle. Scattered body parts of the victims were shot by a man who walked around the blood-soaked accident spot.

It was one of the users who shared the said video first on social media who shared the news of X deciding to take action against the video. "Twitter made, that Dehradun Innova Accident video down," the user said while sharing the news with his followers on Friday. He shared a screenshot of the request he received from X which read, “Violating our rules against posting media depicting gratuitous gore. You may not share excessively graphic media (e.g., severe injuries, torture). Exposure to gratuitous gore can be harmful, especially if the content is posted with intent to delight in cruelty or for sadistic pleasure."

Meanwhile, news reports said that the user apologized in a follow-up post for posting the graphic video. He claimed to have uploaded it for “information purposes" and accepted that it was unfair to do so sans any trigger warning or removal of sensitive parts.

Dehradun car accident: What happened?

Six students were killed and another was seriously injured when the Innova they were travelling crashed into a truck in the early hours of Tuesday. The collision, which reduced the car to a mangled wreck, occurred around 1.30 am at Dehradun's ONGC Chowk. The car rammed into the truck from behind and the six died on the spot, Circle Officer (City) Neeraj Semwal said.

The deceased students were identified as Kunal Kukreja (23), Atul Agrawal (24), Rishabh Jain (24), Navya Goel (23), Kamakshi (20), and Guneet (19). All of them were from Uttarakhand's Dehradun except Kukreja who hails from Himachal Pradesh.
