Shiv Sena (Mahayuti) candidate from Worli, Milind Deora, has issued an open challenge to Aaditya Thackeray, questioning his achievements for Worli and Mumbai during his five-year tenure as an MLA.
Addressing a press conference in Worli, Deora called for a public debate on developmental issues, pointing out Aaditya Thackeray’s silence even 48 hours after the challenge was issued.
“Aaditya Thackeray has often claimed that leaders who avoid public debates with rival candidates have no place in any public forum. I now invite him to participate in a public debate on the progress of Worli, Mumbai, and Maharashtra,” Deora stated.

“The people deserve transparency on critical issues such as economic growth, public safety, and local concerns, including the redevelopment of the Mahalaxmi Racecourse.”
Deora proposed a structured discussion, comparing the accomplishments of the Mahayuti government with those of the previous Maha Vikas Aghadi regime. He also urged Aaditya to outline his vision for the constituency and the state, suggesting that a journalist of Aaditya’s choice moderate the debate.
“This debate should be about real issues, not personal attacks,” Deora emphasised. “It’s a matter of addressing the genuine concerns of Worli residents, Mumbai citizens, and Maharashtrians as a whole. I hope Aaditya Thackeray accepts this challenge to provide clarity on his record and future plans.”
In a symbolic gesture, Deora announced that a chair has been reserved for Aaditya Thackeray at the Shiv Sena (Mahayuti) central election office in Worli. “This empty chair stands as a reminder of my open invitation. Aaditya, it’s time to step up and engage in an honest conversation for the people,” Deora concluded.
