'Congress leaders dislike Jai Shri Ram chant, did not visit Ayodhya', says MP CM Mohan Yadav campaigning for Maharashtra Assembly polls

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav lauded the Bharatiya Janata Party’s initiatives for women while campaigning in Mumbai for the assembly polls on Monday and asserted the saffron party-led alliance will win the election.

Talking about the Ladli Behna Yojana, under which eligible women get Rs 1,500 monthly, Yadav said that it symbolised the spirit of the Sanatan dharma which worshipped feminine power. Of the 200 countries in the world, Yadav said only India was referred to as 'Mother'. “Of all the planets, only the Earth was referred to as Mother," he said further expanding it to include the invocation of Hindu Gods with the name of the Goddess coming first.

On the last day of campaigning for the assembly polls, the Madhya Pradesh CM addressed public meetings in Kalina, Dharavi, Sain Koliwada and Ghatkopar. Taking on the Congress, Yadav said that the BJP was the only party in which an ordinary worker could reach the highest post. In contrast, for the Congress, it was family first and all the top posts were occupied by members of one family.

He also accused Congress leaders of not visiting the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, saying that they even disliked the chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram’. He said that the Congress was scared that if it chanted the name of Ram, then there would also be talk about the Krishna temple in Mathura. “But those who are of no use to Ram are of no use to anyone”, Yadav said.

He spoke of his own government’s initiative of celebrating all Hindu festivals, including Govardhan pooja and Geeta Jayanti, and the opposition of the Congress to these. He expressed hope that while the entire country was turning to the lotus (BJP’s symbol), Maharashtra too would not be left behind. The lotus, Yadav said, would bloom in Maharashtra and as it was the flower offered to Goddesses Lakshmi; “Deepawali would be celebrated with a BJP win in the state,” the CM said.
