Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has established a lead of over one lakh votes in her debut electoral contest from Kerala's Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency. The Congress which fielded Priyanka in Wayanad,  after Congress leader and her brother Rahul Gandhi vacated the seat, had actively campaigned for her victory.

As per the initial trends, she is poised for a comfortable victory against CPM's Sathyan Mokeri and BJP's Navya Haridas.

The expectation in the UDF camp is that Priyanka's lead will cross over 4 lakh votes.

Meanwhile, a tight race is underway in Palakkad where BJP's Krishna Kumar and Congress's Rahul Mamkootattil are in a neck-and-neck fight. While Krishna Kumar got the first lead, Rahul wrested it back soon. As of 10:30 am, Krishna Kumar is ahead with a slender margin of 418.

In Chelakkara Lok Sabha constituency, Left candidate U R Pradeep has a lead. He faces Congress candidate Ramya Haridas and BJP's K Balakrishnan.
