Maharashtra Assembly elections: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut says 'something is wrong' as Mahayuti races ahead

The Maha Vikas Aghadi camp, reeling from the impending defeat, in the Maharashtra Assembly Elections has broken its silence with Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut hinting at rigging of the elections.

"From what we are seeing, it seems that something is wrong. This was not the decision of the public. Its clear something is wrong here. What did Mahayuti do to get more than 120 seats? How is it that MVA is getting not even 75 seats in Maharashtra?," Raut added.

However, BJP leader Pravin Darekar hit out at Raut for his statement, adding that "Raut needs to land his aircraft on the ground. "Maharashtra will further progress when there is BJP govt both in the state and Centre. This is the reason the public has voted for us. I especially thank the Ladli Behenas in the state. The CM will be of BJP; I think Devendra Fadnavis will be the CM."

In Maharashtra, the ruling Mahayuti is set to return with the alliance leading in 221 seats while the MVA only has an edge in 55 seats.

The Congress also suffered a huge setback as Balasaheb Thorat, a senior leader of the Congress and a contender for the post of Chief Minister, is trailing before Shiv Sena's Amol Khatal. Vijay Wadettiwar and Vishwajit Kadam are also lagging in the initial round.

Congress leader Nana Patole was touted to be a chief ministerial contender if the MVA got the majority, got a lead after trailing in Sakoli for a long time. Also leading are  Dhiraj Vilasrao Deshmukh from Latur Rural, Amit Vilasrao Deshmukh from Latur City and Prithviraj Chavan from Karad South.
