As the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Mahayuti bloc is set for a landslide win in Maharashtra, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said there would be no dispute over the CM post which will be decided by the alliance leaders.
Besides the BJP, Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party are the other two constituents of the ruling alliance.
"There will be no dispute on the CM's face. It was decided from day one that after the elections, the leaders of the three parties will sit together and decide on this. The decision will be acceptable to everyone, there is no dispute on this,” Fandavis said.

His comments came even as a section of the BJP leaders demanded that Fadnavis be made the chief minister after the party’s impressive show in the polls.
As per the latest trends, the Mahayuti parties are winning/leading in at least 230 seats in the 288-member house, with the BJP set to become the single largest party. The saffron party is leading in 132 seats, close to the halfway mark of 144 on its own.
The BJP leader, who chose to play second fiddle to Shinde who was made the chief minister following the split in Shiv Sena, termed himself as the ‘modern Abhiamnyu’.

"I had said earlier that I am a modern Abhimanyu and know how to break the 'Chakravyuh'... I think, my contribution in this victory is small, it is the victory of our team,” he added.
Fadnavis said the results of the Maharashtra assembly polls show that the state supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his ‘Ek hain toh safe hain' slogan.
"The people of Maharashtra have given us an unprecedented victory. This shows that people are with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In line with the slogan he gave 'Ek hain toh safe hain', people from all sections and communities voted for us unitedly... This is the victory of Mahayuti, CM Eknath Shinde, Deputy CM Ajit Pawar and Ramdas Athawale, this is the victory of unity,” said the BJP leader.
