While the Maha Vikas Aghadi saw a dismal performance in Maharashtra with the BJP-led Mahayuti leading with a huge margin, the INDIA bloc might get a relief in Jharkhand.
Initial trends in the Jharkhand elections show the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led INDIA bloc is ahead in 50 seats while the BJP is leading in 28 seats around 11.30 am.

If the leads in these seats could translate to victories, Chief Minister Hemant Soren, who was behind bars, could continue in the post for another five years. The majority mark in the Jharkhan assembly is 41 seats.
This is is sharp contrast to exit poll predictions where Matrize survey gave NDA 42 to 47 seats and INDIA bloc 25 to 30 seats. Times Now-JVC survey predicted 40 to 44 seats for the NDA.
However, Axis My India predicted 49 to 59 seats for INDIA in line with the initial trends.
Champai Soren who was made CM when Hemant was in prison joined the BJP after his return and reinstatement as chief minister.
The CM was leading in his home constituency, Seraikella, by 8,000 votes while his wife Kalpana Soren was trailing from Gandey constituency.
Held in two phases, the first one on November 13 saw 43 seats heading to polls and the second one saw 38 seats voting on November 20.
