The winter session of the Parliament will begin on Monday where the controversial Waqf Act (Amendment) Bill is likely to be discussed.

Besides the Waqf Bill, the centre will also table multiple other bills, including the Banking Laws amendment bill, the Mussalman Wakf (Repeal) Bill, the Bharatiya Vayuyan Vidheyak, the Disaster Management (Amendment) Bill, the Readjustment of Representation of Scheduled Tribes in Assembly Constituencies of the State of Goa Bill and the Carriage of Goods by Sea Bill, the Railways (Amendment) Bill.

The session is likely to be stormy as the Opposition has decided to seek discussion on the Manipur and Adani indictment issue.  During the all-party meeting convened by the government,  the opposition asked the Centre to allow discussions on the US prosecutors' bribery charges against the Adani Group. Union minister Kiren Rijiju made it clear that the matters to be taken up in the two Houses will be decided by authorised committees with the consent of the Chair.

The opposition has demanded that Gautam Adani be arrested and a probe be initiated against him.

The floor leaders of several opposition parties of the INDIA bloc would meet on Monday morning at the office of the leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge to chalk out their joint strategy for the upcoming winter session of parliament.

Besides Adani and Manipur, the opposition will also corner the government on the price rise.

The meeting also comes two days after the BJP-led alliance won the Maharashtra assembly elections, while the INDIA Bloc won the Jharkhand assembly polls.
