Air India pilot Srishti Tuli, the late 25-year-old whose demise has kicked up a row, had talked to her mother shortly before her death, a relative claimed. About 15 minutes before Srishti Tuli took the extreme step, she conversed with her mother and aunt and sounded pleasant, the late pilot's uncle Vivek Tuli alleged.

Srishti Tuli's family alleged that the pilot didn't die by suicide but was murdered by Adithya Pandit, her boyfriend. She was insulted in public and was evicted from the car by the man. The duo had a fight recently over skipping the engagement ceremony of her sister, he said.

Srishti Tuli was found unresponsive by Pandit, who rushed her to a medical facility where she was pronounced dead.

Srishti largely kept her family in the dark about the harassment she suffered from Adithya. When the finally learnt about the harrowing details from her friends, it was too late. Only her sister had some idea about the issues between Srishti and Adithya, Vivek Tuli told the press.

27-year-old Adithya Pandit was arrested after the young pilot died in her apartment in Andheri. He has been booked for abetment of suicide following the death of the woman inside her rented flat at the Kanakia Rainforest building in Andheri's Marol area on Monday. There was no suicide note.

Vivek Tuli claimed that another woman pilot was involved in the death of his niece. Adithya was in the company of this woman during the time of the incident and it was her who summoned the locksmith to open the apartment door, he alleged.

Adithya was jealous of Srishti Tuli since she managed to clear the test and become a pilot after training. During Diwali, she had given around Rs 65,000 to Adithya's family, Vivek Tuli claimed citing bank details. They have asked the bank for statements for the past year to check whether she was financially exploited further by Adithya.

According to Vivek, the family is certain that the strong-willed woman Srishti was, she would never resort to suicide. If she was so feeble, she wouldn't have become a pilot, Manorama Online quoted Tuli as saying while accusing Pandit of murdering the woman.
