The boyfriend of the 25-year-old Air India pilot, found dead in her apartment in Andheri, has been arrested on charges of abetment of suicide. Srishti Tuli was found dead inside her rented flat at the Kanakia Rainforest building in Andheri's Marol area on Monday. Police said Tuli hanged herself with a cable. There was no suicide note.

Tuli's parents had alleged harassment by her boyfriend, identified as 27-year-old Aditya Pandit. Her family members said Tuli and Pandit met when they were training together to be pilots. While Tuli managed to clear the test and become a pilot, Pandit did not. However, they continued the relationship even after Tuli moved to Mumbai in 2023.

According to her family, Pandit visited her and stayed in her flat for a week before Tuli committed suicide.

On Sunday, after Tuli returned from work, the duo entered into an argument. Following this, Pandit left for Delhi in his car around 1 am.

However, he rushed back after Tuli made a distress call threatening to kill herself. On finding her door locked, Pandit called her friend who brought a locksmith. On seeing Tuli unresponsive, they rushed her to the doctor, who pronounced her dead.

Her family alleges that Pandit was harassing Tuli and once had publicly humiliated her for consuming non-veg food at a public event. Her uncle also filed an FIR at Powai police station against Pandit. They also said a transaction of Rs 65,000 had also taken place from Srishti's bank account to Aditya recently.

However, police said Tuli was battling mental health issues.
