Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed that people’s grievances should be the most important task for officials at different levels of governance. He said that the satisfaction of the complainant shall become the measure of the concerned official’s efficiency.

Adityanath was monitoring law and order, and revenue matters through video conferencing on Thursday morning.

He said that officials should ensure that there is no injustice against any poor person. All grievances should be looked upon with great sensitivity.

He also gave directions for dealing strictly with those who were responsible for creating chaos in Sambhal, Gautam Buddh Nagar and Aligarh. Wherever there has been damage to public property, those that have caused the damage will pay for repairs. He asked the police to take the public into confidence and take its help so that not even a single miscreant is spared.

The other matter that must be tackled at once, the CM said, should be the forcible encroachment of roads. He said encroachment would not be tolerated even in the sense of letting building material lie by the side of road for days on end.

On the Mahakumbh, Adityanath said that the event had to be free of one-time use plastic and in making it so, surrounding districts had an important role to play. The government is to also widely propagate that coming to the Mahakumbh in tractors and trolleys, as has been the practice in past years, is not permitted this time.

He has also directed that there be no interruptions in Christmas and New Year celebrations, and that all faiths must be respected during the same.

However, he cautioned that while playing religious music within limits was fine, it should not go beyond the permitted decibels. He has instructed the police to once again tackle this matter as was done in the past.
