The AAP and the Congress fought the Lok Sabha elections together but lost all the seven constituencies to BJP. Following this, the two allies parted ways and contested the Haryana elections on their own over seat-sharing disagreement. However, fighting separately did not help the two parties in Haryana.
The latest statement from the AAP chief comes a week after he said that his party has no plans to form alliances. Earlier reports suggested that AAP and the Congress are finalising a seat-sharing agreement. AAP won the previous elections and is hoping to continue the streak for a third time. Out of the 70 assembly seats, AAP won 67 seats in 2015 and 62 in 2020.
