The first anniversary of the pran pratistha of Ram Lalla at the new mandir will be celebrated between January 11 and 13 with a slew of programmes. These programmes will be organised at five locations, with those taking place at Angad Tila being open to the public.
Though as per the Georgian calendar the pran pratistha took place on January 22 of this year, the calculation of the anniversary dates has been done as per the Hindu lunar calendar.
This has been worked out to be the Shukla paksha Ekadashi in the Pausha month. While the Ekadashi marks the eleventh day of the waxing lunar cycle; Pausha is a winter month, the tenth on the lunar calendar that falls between the end of December and the middle of January. The programmes, that will take place on the 70-acre premises of the new temple, include offerings to the fire god accompanied by the recitation of 1975 mantras by 11 Vedic acharyas.
The Shri Ram mantra will be chanted six lakh times during the same period, and the continuous recitation of hymns such as the Hanuman Chalisa and the Aditya Hriday stotra (dedicated to the Sun God) will happen throughout the commemoration.
