The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday released its second list of 29 candidates for the Delhi Assembly elections scheduled for February 5. The party had earlier announced the names of candidates for 29 constituencies.

Kapil Mishra, a former Aam Aadmi Partry leader now identified with hardline Hindutva politics, has been fielded from Karawal Nagar while Harish Khurana, son of former Delhi chief minister Madan Lal Khurana, will contest from Moti Nagar constituency.

BJP leader Karnail Singh has been fielded from Shakur Basti where he will contest against AAP's former minister Satyendar Jain.

In Karawal Nagar, Mishra will replace sitting MLA Mohan Singh Bisht. Mishra had earlier represented the constituency when he was with the AAP. In the 2015 elections, he defeated Bisht, a four-time MLA.

Among other candidates, Raj Karan Khari will contest from Narela, Surya Prakash Khatri from Timarpur, Gajendra Daral from Mundka, Bajrang Shukla from Kirari, Karam Singh Karma from Sultanpur Majra (SC), and Tilak Ram Gupta from Tri nagar.

Satish Jain has been fielded from Chandni Chowk, Deepti Indora from Matia Mahal, Kamal Bagri from Ballimaran, Urmila Kailas Gangwal from Madipur (SC), Shweta Saini from Tilak Nagar, Neelam Pahalwan from Najafgarh, Priyanka Gautam from Kondli (SC), Abhya Verma from Laxmi Nagar and Anil Gaur from Seelampur.

With the second list, the BJP has so far named candidates for 58 seats for the elections to the 70-member Delhi Assembly.

Delhi is witnessing a triangular contest with the ruling AAP looking for another straight term while the BJP and the Congress aiming at a strong comeback. The votes will be counted on February 8.

In the outgoing assembly, the AAP has 62 MLAs and the BJP 8. The Congress drew a blank in the last assembly elections.
