The Mahamandaleshwar of the Shri Panchadashnam Juna Akhara has called on the saint community to brainstorm on how Sanatan can be protected rather than talk only about the grandeur of the Mahakumbh.

Yati Narasimhanand Giri said that the Juna Akhara, which is the largest of all Akharas, shall take the lead in tackling Sanatan from the ‘evil’ of ‘Islamic jihad’.

Saints from the Juna Akhara addressed a press conference on the Prayagraj Kumbh mela ground on Monday.

One of the issues they drew attention to was Hindu genocide which they said was happening in many countries, including Bangladesh.

The press conference gave an idea of what the main topic of discussion in the Dharm Samvad (dialogue on religion) to be held on January 25 will be. This is to be attended by the prominent leaders of all akharas, sects and communities of Sanatan dharma as well as workers of Hindu organisations all over India.

The international spokesperson of Juna Akhara, Srimahant Narayan Giri, said that there was a need to protect all of humanity from Islamic jihad.

He said that saints in the akharas did not worry about giving up their lives for Sanatan- for that is the credo by which Akharas live. “The enemies of Sanatan have considered our love for non-violence… as our weakness and they are hell-bent on erasing the existence of Sanatan”, he said.

He also added that instead of just taking the name of Ram and Krishna, there was a need to move on the path of these Gods- both of whom had led and won wars over the forces of evil.

At the Dharm Samvad, a concrete strategy will be formulated for finding out the root causes of Islamic Jihad and to deal with it. There will also be an effort to reach out to non-Muslim leaders of the world to be part of this strategy.
