Bidar ATM shooting: Security guard shot dead while offloading cash from van; another injured

In a shocking incident, a security guard was gunned down by unidentified bike-borne robbers in Bidar in broad daylight on Thursday morning.

The masked men fled with cash worth Rs 93 lakh after opening fire at the two security personnel who were offloading cash from the van to deposit in the ATM.

The deceased were employees of a private security agency hired by the State Bank of India (SBI) to refill cash into their ATMs.

According to eyewitnesses, two masked men arrived on a bike, opened fire killing the man on the spot. The injured guard was rushed to the BIMS hospital succumbed to injuries.

Shockingly, the attack happened outside an SBI main branch located in the vicinity of the deputy commissioner's office and the district court.

The passersby who ran for cover saw the two accused trip and drop the box at least twice before the pillion rider finally managed to lift and place the chest on the petrol tank before fleeing.
