IIT baba Abhay Singh aka Abhey Singh from Juna Akhara who became viral during the Mahakumbh mela after speaking to a Hindi new channel earlier this week is once again hitting headlines.
Singh's father Karan Grewal, a lawyer, said he wants his son to come back home. While speaking to NDTV, he pointed out that it would not be easy for him to return.
Grewal, who is based in Haryana's Jhajjar, said Singh's mother want him back home to take care of the family. However, the IIT baba said it is impossible.
The lawyer said his son was academically inclined since childhood. Singh, who did aerospace engineering from IIT Bombay, decided to take a different road by pursuing a masters in design. He also tried a hand at photography at a popular organisation.
He worked in Delhi and later moved to Canada. However, he came back and spent time in Shimla, Mussoorie and Dharamshala. He later took to spirituality in a bid to find the ultimate truth. He followed the teachings of Iskcon and J. Krishnamurti.
The father said he last contacted Singh six months ago, following which the latter stopped talking to him and blocked his number.
Earlier, Singh told NDTV that his parent fought regularly when he was a child and the domestic violence led him to embrace spirituality. The IIT baba said in order escape from the constant fights, he would study late at night. He added that the fight between his parents also led him to choose a bachelor life.
Singh also said his family mocked him when he pursued photography. Such experience from family members often prompted him to leave home often resulting in depression and sleepless nights. He sees yoga and Vedic sutras as the way to salvation.
