Rs 2,500 monthly aid for women, LPG cylinders at Rs 500 and Rs 2,500 pension for senior citizens were among some of the promises made in the first part of BJP's manifesto for the Delhi assembly polls, released on Friday.

Delhi will go to polls on February 5 and the results will be announced on February 8.

BJP president J.P. Nadda assured that all existing public welfare schemes in Delhi will continue if the safron party is elected to power.

Addressing a press conference while releasing the first part of the 'Sankalp Patra', Nadda said the party's manifesto is the foundation for a developed Delhi.

Nadda promised that a BJP-led Delhi government will approve the implementation of 'Ayushman Bharat ' in the city in its first cabinet meeting, and also give additional health cover of Rs 5 lakh.

"The BJP will give LPG cylinders at Rs 500 to women from poor sections. One free cylinder will be given each on Holi and Diwali."

"We have provided 5 kg of wheat or 5 kg of rice and 1 kg of dal to 75 lakh people in Delhi. Similarly, the governments of Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, and Rajasthan have made arrangements to provide full meals for Rs 5 to the poor. We have also decided that in Delhi, we will provide nutritious meals for Rs 5 through Atal Canteen in all slum clusters"

He said 'Sankalp Patra' has been made after receiving feedback from thousands of meetings.

Further, he hit out at the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party, saying all corruption charges in the existing public welfare schemes will be investigated.

Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva claimed that Delhi needs holistic development that touches every sector and said Arvind Kejriwal does not understand the difference between freebies and empowerment, or freebies and prosperity.

Reacting to the release of the first part of the party's manifesto, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari said the people of Delhi will now get their true rights as the BJP does what it says and says only what it can do.
