The Mumbai police have nabbed the attacker in Saif Ali Khan stabbing case and the suspect is reportedly being questioned by cops at Bandra police station. Police have nabbed the accused 30 hours after the incident.

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked by an intruder at his residence during the early hours of Thursday. The attacker stabbed him six times and Saif underwent multiple surgeries at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai on Thursday. The Bandra police registered a case based on the complaint filed by the actor’s maid, who also suffered injuries in the attack.

Mumbai police had deployed 20 special teams to nab the attacker. Police on Thursday released visuals of the attacker captured in the CCTV at the actor’s residential building. The suspect was later spotted in visuals captured by a CCTV camera installed on the Bandra footbridge.

According to police, the attacker could have entered the high-security building via the AC duct and reached/escaped from the actor's flat using the fire exit. The intruder sneaked into Saif's son Jeh's room and allegedly demanded a ransom of Rs 1 crore. Police are questioning other workers at the actor's residence.

Meanwhile, Mumbai police have taken possession of part of a broken knife removed from Saif's body and efforts are on to recover the remaining part of the weapon. Doctors at the hospital removed a 2.5-inch knife from Saif's back on Thursday.  According to doctors, the actor suffered a major injury to the thoracic spinal cord, and there were deep wounds in his neck and left hand. Doctors said the actor is stable and recovering. He was kept under observation in the ICU following the surgery on Thursday and a decision regarding moving him to a ward will be taken after discussing with family.
