The administration in Rajouri has declared the entire village of Badhal a containment zone after 17 residents from three families tragically lost their lives under mysterious circumstances. The unprecedented fatalities have raised serious concerns, prompting the imposition of strict measures to prevent further casualties.

The containment strategy divides the affected area into three zones to ensure targeted interventions.

Zone 1 encompasses houses where the deaths have occurred. These homes have been sealed off, and entry is strictly prohibited without authorisation.

Zone 2 includes families identified as close contacts of the deceased. These individuals have been relocated to the Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri for continuous health monitoring.

Zone 3 covers the rest of Badhal village. Authorities are closely monitoring food distribution and consumption to prevent potential contamination across all households in this zone.

To enforce these measures, the administration has stationed police personnel in the area to ensure compliance. Officers are also maintaining detailed logbooks documenting the distribution and consumption of food supplies with entries signed three times daily to ensure accountability.

All public and private gatherings within the village have been banned to minimise the risk of infection or contamination.

The administration has directed designated officials to oversee every aspect of food safety and health surveillance for affected families and other residents.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) is on-site, conducting a thorough inquiry to identify the cause of these mysterious deaths. Residents have been urged to fully cooperate with containment measures as authorities work to safeguard the community. The situation remains under close observation, and further updates are expected as investigations progress.
