Shiv Sena leader Shaina N.C. launched a sharp attack on Uddhav Thackeray on Wednesday, accusing him of compromising Hindutva principles for political gain by aligning with the Congress.
Addressing a press conference at Balasaheb Bhavan in Mumbai, Shaina demanded that Uddhav publicly apologise and reflect on his actions on the 99th birth anniversary of Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray.
Highlighting the party’s plans, Shaina announced a grand Shiv Sena rally to be held at the Bandra Kurla Complex on January 23 to honour Bal Thackeray’s legacy. At the event, the women of Maharashtra will felicitate Shiv Sena’s chief and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The party MPs and MLAs will also be recognised for their contributions.
“We are committed to ensure that the saffron flag continues to soar over the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) this year,” Shaina declared.
Taking aim at Uddhav and his son Aaditya Thackeray, she added, “They owe an apology to the people of Maharashtra for betraying Balasaheb’s ideology. Unlike them, Shiv Sena does not engage in vote-bank politics or treat Muslim brothers merely as voters. Uddhav Thackeray, in his desperation, has aligned himself with Congress and sought support from the Muslim community, abandoning the principles Balasaheb stood for.”
Shaina also highlighted Shiv Sena’s performance in the state assembly elections, where the party contested 81 seats and secured 57. “Our success is built on hard work, dedication, and unwavering service to the people,” she said.
Reaffirming Shiv Sena’s commitment to Bal Thackeray’s vision, Shaina underscored the party’s tough stance on illegal immigration.
“Shiv Sena remains resolute in its fight against illegal Bangladeshi immigrants, a cause that Balasaheb championed. Under Shiv Sena’s leadership, the state government will take firm action to uphold his legacy and address this pressing issue,” she said.
