Aam Aadmi Party leader and Delhi Chief Minister Atishi charged recently elected Bharatiya Janata Party leaders are fighting over ministerial berths. Atishi charged the BJP leaders are planning to blame AAP for its failure to fulfil poll promises.

Addressing presspersons in Delhi, Atishi charged the BJP leaders are engaged in a “tussle” over portfolios. “There is an ongoing rift among BJP MLAs over who will get which ministerial post and how much they can loot”, she alleged. “They have already made a plan to blame AAP for not fulfilling their promises. BJP will say Delhi government has no funds and AAP exhausted all funds,” ANI reported quoting Atishi.

Highlighting the party’s performance on the financial front during the past two terms of governance, Atishi said, Delhi’s budget has increased from Rs 31,000 crore in 2014-15 to Rs 77,000 crore in 2024-25. "In the last 10 years, Delhi's budget has grown 2.5 folds. The Arvind Kejriwal-led government even repaid the debt inherited from the previous Congress administration," PTI reported quoting AAP. Atishi claimed the CAG, in its 2022 report, has stated Delhi is one of the surplus states in the country.

Atishi urged the BJP to fulfil all its poll promises without delay, including the monthly assistance promised for women in the national capital. The outgoing Delhi CM said the incoming BJP cabinet must approve monthly assistance of Rs 2,500 for women in the first meeting itself and start providing the assistance from March 8, as promised.

The BJP won the Delhi Assembly polls, winning 48 seats in the election held to 70-member assembly. The AAP won only 22 seats.
