Hours before the oath-taking ceremony of the new Bharatiya Janata Party leader in Delhi, a member of the new cabinet has a stern warning for former chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal.
BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa, who was a strong contender for the chief minister’s post in Delhi, said the new government will take action against “corrupt” leaders. Sirsa will also be sworn in as a minister on Thursday.

Thanking the party leadership for choosing him for the role, Sirsa said, “I am grateful to the top leadership of the party for giving me the opportunity to be part of the team that will implement Prime Minister Modi's vision. Delhi will get clean water, clean air...”, he said. Sirsa added, “We will take action against those who commit corruption and Arvind Kejriwal will have to spend most of his time in jail,” ANI reported.

The BJP won the Delhi Assembly polls by a landslide, returning to power in the national capital after 27 years. The party won 48 seats in the election and AAP was reduced to 22 seats. Former chief minister and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal also lost in the polls.
The BJP has chosen Rekha Gupta as its chief ministerial face. The first-time legislator is Delhi’s fourth woman chief minister. Gupta will take oath around noon on Thursday at Ram Lila Maidan in Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP chief J.P. Nadda and all chief ministers of the National Democratic Alliance are expected to attend the event.
