Delhi Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena took a dig at the previous Aam Aadmi Party regime in the national capital and said its blame game hurt the development of the national capital.

Addressing the new Delhi Assembly, Lieutenant Governor Saxena said, "Continuous clashes, blame game in the past 10 years hurt Delhi. My government will work with the Centre and other states, according to the principles of competitive and cooperative federalism given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.” The governor added the new government will adopt "Viksit Delhi Sankalp Patra" as a document for policy guidance and will fulfil all poll promises.

The opposition AAP made their presence felt in the house by protesting since the beginning of the session on Tuesday. AAP raised slogans condemning the Bharatiya Janata Party government and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta for allegedly removing portraits of Ambedkar and Bhagat Singh from the chief minister’s office (CMO). Reportedly, the portraits were not removed from CMO, but moved to a different spot, and portraits of President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi were placed on the wall behind the chief minister’s desk.

Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta suspended Opposition leader Atishi, former minister Gopal Rai and several other AAP MLAs for the day for creating ruckus inside the assembly. The suspended legislators protested outside the house condemning the government.

Addressing presspersons, Atishi slammed the Rekha Gupta government and said they would continue their protest until the portrait of Ambedkar is moved to its earlier position. "BJP has replaced the portrait of Dr Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar with that of PM Modi in the CM office and cabinet ministers office. Is PM Modi bigger than Dr BR Ambedkar?... We will keep on protesting against it until the portrait of Ambedkar is put in its place,” Hindustan Times reported quoting Atishi.
