Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin slammed his Uttar Pradesh counterpart Yogi Adityanath on Thursday for criticising the state’s protest against the National Education Policy and Lok Sabha delimitation. Stalin termed the protest “a battle for dignity and justice”.

Reacting to Adityanath’s recent comments about NEP and delimitation during a recent interview with ANI, Stalin said the Bharatiya Janata Party is clearly rattled by their protests. Stalin said Adityanath’s lecture was “political black comedy at its darkest”. In a post on social media platform X, Stalin said, “Tamil Nadu’s fair and firm voice on #TwoLanguagePolicy and #FairDelimitation is echoing nationwide—and the BJP is clearly rattled. Just watch their leaders’ interviews. And now Hon’ble Yogi Adityanath wants to lecture us on hate? Spare us.”

“This isn’t irony—it’s political black comedy at its darkest,” added Stalin. The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leader said they are not opposed to any language, but they oppose only “imposition and chauvinism”. “This isn’t riot-for-votes politics. This is a battle for dignity and justice,” Stalin said, targeting Adityanath.

In the interview, Adityanath charged the Tamil Nadu chief minister with creating divisions based on region and language to secure his vote bank. “This is merely narrow politics. When these people feel their vote bank is at risk, they try to create divisions based on region and language. The people of this country should always be alert to such divisive politics and stand firm for the unity of the country," Adityanath told ANI. Adityanath added when Tamil, Telugu and various other languages could be taught in Uttar Pradesh, why can’t Hindi be taught in Tamil Nadu?
On the Lok Sabha delimitation row and Joint Action Committee meeting, the Uttar Pradesh chief minister said, “The home minister (Amit Shah) has stated this very clearly on this matter. This is Stalin's political agenda under the guise of the meeting. I believe that after the Home Minister's statement, no questions should arise on this issue," he told ANI.
